DOR4001 Doortech RTS-4 Door edge template fixture

Mortise strike plates, flushbolts, pivots, hinges, latch mortises, ball catches, roller latches and more!

This RTS-4 Router Template System is ideal for commercial, residential and architectural work when flexibility in job requirements is a priority. The holder attaches to the edge of the door and, by adding the template you desire, you can quickly and accurately mortise for just about anything.

Changing patterns is as easy as snapping on a different template. The included binder shows the available templates. The binder contains a cross-reference for hardware manufacturer’s part numbers to the Norfield part numbers. If the template isn’t available we can make one.

• A unique feature of the system is that when used with a dedicated router no adjustment to the router is required for different thickness hardware. The mortise depth is determined by the template thickness.
• Each template is precisely machined and clearly labeled and locates accurately on the base unit with a quick snap-in action.
• TEMPLATES ARE REQUIRED for the DoorTecH’s Router Template System. (Call to order) The number of templates required varies based on application (usually 1-4 are needed).
• Hinge templates provide a guide for different backsets.
• Custom templates can be made for just about any hardware. (Call for details)
• 3° bevel and square-edged doors: the base unit is designed for square and bevel-edged doors from 1"/ to 2-1/4"/ thick (infinite adjustment within this range).
• Maximum depth of cut is 2-1/4"
• Maximum mortise length is 10"
• Not designed for use with T-Astragals. (See DOR5001 for the unit that works with T-Astragals)

What makes our templates so durable?
Phenolic templates are a hard, dense material produced by applying heat and pressure to layers of linen or canvas impregnated with a synthetic resin. As the heat and pressure are applied, polymerization creates a strong, durable and mechanically stable composite that won’/t shrink or warp, and offers excellent impact strength.
